When you apply for a job, do they always reply back?

I applied for a job as a student waiter at this retirement home, (They hire at 15), and it's been almost two weeks and I still have no idea whether it's a yes or a no... I don't even care if they say no, I just want to know so I can apply for another job. I handed everything in, and I even left a message on the answering machine regarding this
