Why do OFWs act like millionaires when they come home?

Even if they only work as waiters and japayukis (yes, I know one. And not a female) in the first world it's still blue collar. Yet they have the most expensive Nokias and Adidas apparel and invite everyone for handaan and videoke. Don't these people ever think about their retirement?
